Tolerance 2016

Hostess Lisa Winton and Swami Jayananda will talk about the United Nations International Day for Tolerance. Beginning with a discussion on the paradox of accepting difference within the framework of principle centered behavior. Going into the difference between making laws and becoming a human in the adult state. They will explain the concept of compassion as a state of being. Listen as they discuss the difficulty of being tolerant and not condoning bad behavior. Welcome to the Voice of Yoga; we are talking consciousness! 1. Purity is the ability to think, feel, say, and do– one and the same thing.
2. How does one maintain purity with tolerance of “bad” behavior?
3. In this sense tolerance isn’t just accepting anything without standing up for principles.
4. We are all different and have different perspectives; there must be tolerance for these differences but there is also a “purpose for existence” on a Spirit level we are all one and the same.
5. Compassion is a broader sense of awareness; we see the differences and the similarities at the same time. Namaste!
6. Process 1st stage excitable and emotional; 2nd stage ambitious and passionate; 3rd stage enthusiastic and compassionate. Compassionate is an adult position.
7. Tolerance isn’t just putting up with what we don’t like, know, or understand. Tolerance is understanding that everyone is doing the best they can with what they know.
8. Most don’t know we are Spirit or sense the innate drive to become a whole person.
9. How does one tolerate intolerance?
10. Like attracts like; humans focus on differences. Spirits see sameness.
11. We offend equally when we take offense as when we give it.
12. Trying to fix things from the outside; we make laws instead of men and women.
