Hostess Lisa Winton and Swami Jayananda will be talking about the split between science and religion. They will discuss the ramification of this conflict on both disciplines. Listen as they demonstrate the practical application of this essential reunion. Albert Einstein said, “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” Kriya Yoga is a holistic health management system founded on the union of religion and science. Science 2018 Notes:
1. “Indeed, Bohm (David Bohm) believes that our almost universal tendency to fragment the world and ignore the dynamic interconnectedness of all things is responsible for many of our problems, not only in science but in our lives and our society as well. For instance, we believe we can extract the valuable parts of the earth without affecting the whole. We believe it is possible to treat parts of our body and not be concerned with the whole. We believe we can deal with various problems in our society, such as crime, poverty, and drug addictions, without addressing the problems in our society as a whole, and so on. In his writings Bohm argues passionately that our current way of fragmenting the world into parts not only doesn’t work, but may even lead to our extinction.” The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot (pg.49).
2. “This is an astounding notion. Virtually all of our commonsense prejudices about the world are based on the premise that subjective and objective reality are very much separate. That is why synchronicities seem so baffling and inexplicable to us. But if there is ultimately no division between the physical world and our inner psychological processes, then we must be prepared to change more than just our commonsense understanding of the universe, for the implications are staggering.”
One implication is that objective reality is more like a dream than we have previously suspected.” The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot (pg.80).
3. “The universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science from its divine Principle, God, and then it can be understood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to growth, maturity, and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma.
Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, “Thus far and no farther.” Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy
4. “Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things. We tread on forces. Withdraw them, and creation must collapse. Human knowledge calls them forces of matter; but divine Science declares that they belong wholly to divine Mind, are inherent in this Mind, and so restores them to their rightful home and classification.” Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy
