Notes:

1. I was deeply moved by a Facebook post about a woman whose son tragically took his own life, and it felt profoundly unnatural to me. This led me to reflect on my decision to name the Kriya Yoga Ashram under the Institute for Personal Development, questioning if it was a mistake after realizing there is no personal self. These questions are aiding my comprehension of Mary Baker Eddy‘s insight that “mortal mind does not at once catch the higher meaning.”
2. Today I am right back where I started by seeing the importance of personal development. Therefore, without throwing the baby out with the bathwater and I see the need for personal development to qualify for Spiritual discernment.
3. Identifying with the incorporeal Self is the state of being One with the Divine Principle. This is what is referred to as Knowing the Truth– Life is Perfect. To be in the presence of this consciousness reveals the Truth and dispels the error– in the same way light dispels darkness. However, it appears to me this is rare and when we are not in the presence of Divine Truth in consciousness there are things we can do to evoke the God experience. Just like, helicopters and airplanes can only get us up so far, and in which case– we have to climb the mountain. In a similar way, in mountaineering there are tried and true methods which minimize disasters; inner Spiritual travel is most beneficial when a successful plan is followed. 
4. Building your stairway to the Divine Self can be visualized by using the symbolism in Genesis 1 the upper water, the firmament, and the lower waters gives me diagram for the vertical climb. For me we climb out of unnatural or chaos the original state of consciousness where everything is intermingled with no distinctions– it is one big mess but it is one and can be mistaken for the One True Being. This is what is called sin– mistaking the false for the real. Everything is everything and god is all and we move toward what we want and away from what we don’t want.
