Notes:

1. There are possibly many ways to say this but saying something doesn’t make it so. Here temple can have a double meaning one is body which may be the Spirit body and the other is Lord’s House or Divine Consciousness within Divine Mind and not the mind of mortal man. We find this Divine Consciousness when we accept the Christ within individual consciousness. We hear a lot of words implying that we are all the reflection of the Divine made in the image and likeness of the Perfection of Being. Mary Baker Eddy gives us a clue about these assumptions and I will read it, “
   You are scientifically correct in your statement about yourself. You can never demonstrate spirituality until you declare yourself to be immortal and understand that you are so. Christian Science is absolute; it is neither behind the point of perfection nor advancing towards it; it is at this point and must be practised therefrom. Unless you fully perceive that you are the child of God, hence perfect, you have no Principle to demonstrate and no rule for its demonstration. By this I do not mean that mortals are the children of God, — far from it. In practising Christian Science you must state its Principle correctly, or you forfeit your ability to demonstrate it. 2. How do I know when I find the Temple within? Some things from other writings Revelation 21:22 “22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” It is helpful to know the Lamb is the Son of God, the Christ or what MBE calls God and Man, Principle and Idea. God is the Mind of Man but how do I know Divine Mind is conscious of Itself as Me?
   And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. There was no temple, — that is, no material structure in which to worship God, for He must be worshipped in spirit and in love.”(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 576:10–14) or as Jesus said in John 4:24 “God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.” Herb Fitch
3. Herb Fitch soundbite inserted. To understand what we are calling life isn’t Life at all. Then to discover what is Life is invisible and intangible to mortal sense is only a concept or theory until it is experienced. Divine Science is to be demonstrated and not merely talked about because Spirit is a demonstrable Principle as opposed to the false sense of life which is driven by belief.
4. More “The word temple also means body. The Revelator was familiar with Jesus’ use of this word, as when Jesus spoke of his material body as the temple to be temporarily rebuilt (John ii. 21). What further indication need we of the real man’s incorporeality than this, that John saw heaven and earth with “no temple [body] therein”? This kingdom of God “is within you,” — is within reach of man’s consciousness here, and the spiritual idea reveals it. In divine Science, man possesses this recognition of harmony consciously in proportion to his understanding of God.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 576:14)
5. So she is telling us the Temple of God is within reach of human consciousness, the Spiritual idea reveals It, and man possesses the recognition of harmony in proportion to his understanding of God. As Jesus tells us in the bible see me, see the Father; see the son or the Christ– see the Truth. We begin with belief there is only One Perfect Divine Life everywhere and in everything– Then ask, How do I know Divine Mind is conscious of Itself as me? Well if God is all who am I? who are you? Only God is. So if we don’t know God aright we can’t know the Truth and this is what she means by educate thought up to Spiritual apprehension.
6. To accept the Mind of Christ we need the body of Christ because we can’t put an infinite Mind in a finite body. In the opening we got a clue from MBE when she said we need a proper sense of the infinite. Revelations 12: 1 “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:”
