1. What does it mean to be happy and are there degrees of happiness along with levels of happiness. I like to see things in three’s so there is worldly happiness, intellectual happiness, and Spiritual Bliss. Worldly and intellectual anything is temporary because it is dualistic under the belief in two powers but Spirit is Eternal and Changeless under Divine Law which is the unified state of One Power. As CS Lewis said, aim for heaven earth gets thrown in; aim for earth and get neither. Interesting statement but in the light of Divine Truth there is no material world.
2. What is happiness? I like the Yoga term Santosha (contentment) which is a state of peace where the mortal mind isn’t searching for validation. In reality happiness doesn’t really get much better than that but the term can mean anything to anyone depending on their conditioning and understanding found in individual experience. For some chaos is contentment and would be unhappy or bored with peace but it is also at the level of consciousness where the pattern of the body is running the sense of self. Humans are a collection of obsolete conditioned responses while existing at the larvae level of consciousness. This means to find the Truth promised in scripture we have to separate from the pattern by initiation of the developmental process.
3. Read: Mary Baker Eddy Christian Healer by Y. von Fettweis and R. Warneck Pg. 230 “In 1896 Mrs. Eddy wrote Lida Stone: … What our Cause needs most is the impersonalization of thought. I see little if any growth in this direction. To destroy any effect we must remove its cause. The first error was limiting Mind, or personality, which was supposed to contain mind. Now to love or hate or fear or believe in this finity of mind called mortal personality is to preserve the cause of all error…. No persons can grow into Christian Science until they have grown out of attaching themselves to personality either through fear, love, or hate.” FYI- for me, impersonalize means put off, crucify, get rid of and this means all– person, place and thing! Not use to improve.
4. The idea of accepting Divine identity only happens when we surrender the false sense of self for the immortal Truth of Being and this is Oneness. There is only One Life and It is everywhere always. Not One God and all of us– but knowing we are Christ not in the world appearing as forms in the world. The entire world the mental-material universe is an appearance, a thought, a hypnotic state but it isn’t the Divine Creation.
5. How to induce the God experience by validating the personal sense of self with the Divine Self. Kriya Yoga is about knowing and doing; so, we start with the path of knowledge by learning a value system which supports the Divine Principle. God is Perfect running a Perfect universe everywhere always– this is the Principle and we start with a belief in the Truth about the Divine. To activate the Truth we must be conscious of the Principle and to be conscious of the Divine we need to develop the faculty that perceives the invisible intangible Omnipresence. The Mind of Christ or the Messiah is the interface which receives Divine Revelation without it there is no way of Knowing the Truth but we can start with belief. With mortal thought and belief we can change finite bad to finite good which is a lateral movement as preparation for Spiritual takeoff.
