Notes:
- What is the Spiritual Fact? Life is Perfect, Eternal, Changeless, Absolute Goodness, this is the fact, the Truth, the only Reality. So why are we struggling, suffering, worrying, protecting, improving, indulging etc. because we don’t Know the Truth. We don’t make ourselves Spiritual and Perfect– we come out of the belief in the false sense of existence; the mental-material world of make believe.
- Mortal mind is continuously influencing us to think, God is present when there isn’t any demonstration and God is absent when He is omnipresent. We can’t bring forth the Divine Image with the mortal mind so, stop trying to figure out how the unreal became real. Spirit is the only Self-Existent Power in the universe and we must be conscious of It to activate It in experience; but thinking about It isn’t being conscious of It. So, we must develop the faculty which receives Divine Revelation– repent or think differently. We don’t make ourselves Spiritual we come out of the belief there is something other than the Divine Creation.
- Herb Fitch, Revelation of St. John, class 1B Soundbite to accept Spirit.
- Some quotes from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
“Nothing we can say or believe regarding matter is immortal, for matter is temporal and is therefore a mortal phenomenon, a human concept, sometimes beautiful, always erroneous.” Mary Baker Eddy, S&H 277:29-32 “This is not a spiritual fact but a material belief we have let control us.” “Material belief is slow to acknowledge what the spiritual fact implies.” S&H 20:24 “Certain erroneous postulates should be here considered in order that the spiritual facts may be better apprehended. ” S&H 91:22-24. “As thus indicated, astronomical order imitates the action of divine Principle; and the universe, the reflection of God, is thus brought nearer the spiritual fact, and is allied to divine Science as displayed in the everlasting government of the universe.” S&H 121:28-32 “Truth is ever truthful, and can tolerate no error in premise or conclusion” S&H 129:5-6.
Marginal Heading: Truth by Inversion; “If you wish to know the spiritual fact, you can discover it by reversing the material fable, be the fable pro or con, – be it in accord with your preconceptions or utterly contrary to them.” S&H 129:7-10 “The spiritual fact and the material belief of things are contradictions; but the spiritual is true, and therefore the
material must be untrue.” S&H 289:25-27
“Perfection is gained only by perfection” S&H 290:19 - How to accept Spiritual Identity: We can’t put an Infinite Mind in a finite form so we must learn how to resolve the physical body into a mental image capable of receiving Divine inspiration. This is the initiation of the developmental process called apotheosis it begins with; Born of Spirit, leading to develop the faculty capable of receiving Divine Revelation, and learn how to be instructed by the Divine Principle which reveals the Scientific treatment which heals.
- Something else from Mrs. Eddy:
“I saw the love of God encircling the universe and man, filling all space, and that divine Love so permeated my own consciousness that I loved with Christlike compassion everything I saw. This realization of divine Love called into expression “the beauty of holiness, the perfection of being” , which healed and regenerated and saved all who turned to me for help’ — Mary Baker Eddy
Instructional Version:
We must first, behold the Love of God encircling the universe and man, filling all space. Then second, allow this Divine Love to permeate our own consciousness; so we can, Love with Christlike compassion everything we see. Finally third, realize Divine Love calls into expression “the beauty of holiness, the perfection of being” that heals, regenerates, and saves all who are conscious of It.
