Hostess Lisa Winton and Swami Jayananda will talk about the seventh stage of Kriya Yoga; Dhyana or meditation. Listen as they clear up some of the misconceptions about the true mystical state of meditation. They will explain why it is essential to understand that meditation isn’t a technique but a state of being. True meditation can only happen with Union with the Divine. After all, meditation is the seventh stage of Yoga; the previous six stages are a requirement and not a list of options. Welcome to the Voice of Yoga we are talking Consciousness! Join the Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance to get the light in your soul and experience the benefits of a meditative state.

1. Remember Meditation is the 7th stage of Yoga; it’s the 8th stage of Buddhism. One doesn’t just Meditate.
2. Without the Union of the individual with the Divine; there isn’t any growth and no real opening of the conscious mind.
3. There is a big difference between a trance state and a true meditative state. The distinction is found in the degree of awareness and not necessarily the level of consciousness.
4. There is a difference between a technique and a process. There is a difference between WordPad and MS Office 365 for Business.
5. It all depends on what you are trying to do. If you are happy with using 5% of your Mind or potential then techniques will be just fine for you. You are probably the person happy with text editing on WordPad– its simple, easy to learn, and will not overwhelm you. Dhyana 2017.
6. However, if you want to access the remaining 95% of your mind or potential then you will want a Process and Kriya Yoga is a Practice to initiate a Process. In the same way if you want to get more from your computer MS Office has a learning curve.
7. Key point in understanding the difference between a technique that invokes a trance state and a practice that initiates a process is you can’t separate the mind and the body. The physical body is a manifestation of the mind.
8. By going to your happy place you may go to parts of the mind that are quiet but it doesn’t address the parts of the mind that are turbulent and restless.
9. Anything we do has a 37.5% placebo effect. Tangible results are not conclusive evidence or proof that something will always work. Scientific studies don’t really mean much. Dhyana 2017 at Institute For Personal Development, Inc. “Kriya Yoga Ashram” is a radio talk show discussing various ways to see the concept of Meditation.
10. The goal of Kriya Yoga is Total Consciousness!
