Assess Inspiration:

Hostess Lisa Winton and Swami Jayananda will talk about the difference between human conjecture and finite good mistaken for Divine revelation. In this episode they will explore the statement by Mary Baker Eddy, found in Christian Healing, page 14, “You must first mentally educate and develop the spiritual sense or perceptive faculty by which one learns the metaphysical treatment of disease.” Listen as they explain how to resolve a physical body into a mental image capable of receiving Divine inspiration. Welcome to the Voice of Yoga; we are talking consciousness! Join the Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance to get the Light in your soul and be Divine.

Notes:

  1. I think about what Gilbert Carpenter wrote about Mary Baker Eddy’s insistence on inspiration and demonstration so today we will look at the difference between my will and Thy will. It is crucial to Know the Divine Principle is Power, the only Power in the universe and everything else is a counterfeit of this Power appearing through a false belief in two powers, instead of the One. It is good to Know the Power of Spirit is Perfection and as it says in Revelation 21:5, “I make all things new.” Learning the difference between human conjecture and Divine inspiration can be tricky if you have never received Divine revelation. I like what Mrs. Eddy wrote in S&H “God is infinite, the only Life, substance, Spirit, or Soul, the only intelligence of the universe, including man. Eye hath neither seen God nor His image and likeness. Neither God nor the perfect man can be discerned by the material senses. The individuality of Spirit, or the infinite, is unknown, and thus a knowledge of it is left either to human conjecture or to the revelation of divine Science.”
  2. Inspiration is what comes directly from the Divine Mind and aspiration is the activity of the Divine Will in the Christ. Until we have developed the faculty which enables Divine inspiration we can work with human conjecture and a personal sense of right but don’t be fooled by the outcomes. With thought and belief finite bad can become finite good but it isn’t the Truth, remember, “except the Lord build the house they labor in vein that build it.”
  3. So how do we develop the faculty to receive Divine inspiration. We can start with the scriptural request of born of Spirit or Kriya Yoga or the hero’s journey but we have to separate from the original sin and relink the form to the Life. I like what Mrs. Eddy taught Martha Wilcox to be faithful and orderly with the objects of sense in order to receive the deeper thinks of the Divine Principle. The progression in development is born of woman, born of man, and born of Spirit and to work out salvation graduation requires the cultivation of mental functions– perception, reason, memory, and intuition. Advancement from instinct to human intelligence qualifies one to walk reason through the open door of Revelation.
  4. Herb Fitch RSJ 1B soundbite. 36:22 begins. I like what he said here, “. It is not a spiritual fact; it is a mental fact. And anything that is a mental fact is subject to the change of mind. This world is a mental fact. Revelation is the perception, through Soul, of the reality that underlies the mental images of this world.”
  5. We can’t put an Infinite Mind in a finite form so, we must relocate from the form to the Life.
  6. How to resolve a finite form into a mental image capable of receiving Divine Revelation. Rise and stop thinking with 5 corporeal senses and begin Knowing with 7 Spiritual senses. Remember the Prodigal son because we must first separate from what is safe, familiar, comfortable, and known and embark on the journey of the unknown before we return to the Father’s house. Look at the resentment and anger of the son that didn’t leave home. This is the guilt, shame, anger, resentment, blame, emptiness, and boredom we all experience because we never separated from the original sin.
