Notes:

1. To begin with we will discuss the difference between a material/mental healing and a Spiritual treatment because it is very easy to think you are doing something Spiritually when you are still under the government of karmic law. Karmic law or material law runs on a belief in two powers and is a hypnotic state, a dream state. Spiritual Law is under the government of One Power without opposite. Duality is rational, temporal, finite, and dependent on belief for power. Spirit is absolute, eternal, infinite, and self-existent power. What is the practical value of Spiritual healing? No need, no cost, no fear, and everywhere always.
2. Bicknell Young – Addresses 1937; Key Points in the Chapter on Treatment:
   a. The recital of correct arguments without spiritual perception is not Christian Science treatment.
   b. If evil is nothing in theory, it should be nothing in practice. It should be treated as nothing in both cases.
   c. A treatment is not a practitioner thinking about a patient. A treatment is Truth handling error.
   d. The moment the counterfact is realized, the healing takes place.

4. Explain “Nothing is more important to us than that we should be thoroughly practical. Christian Science treatment would be robbed of its purpose and intention if the spiritual harmony is not to be humanly evident. It is absolutely necessary for one to know that the treatment which declares a divine fact operates as divine law, and that it enforces the divine law in human experience. The best way to do this is to know the unity of divine Mind and idea.”
5. Shift perspective from material/mental to Spiritual. Young writes, “Everything that is true sits at the right hand of God, for Truth is one with God and has the power of God in it. Every thought that comes to you in the realm of absolute truth sits at the right hand of God, and gives you divine authority and dominion to successfully, and scientifically, and unerringly annul and destroy the claims of false mortal belief.” No longer judging good and evil but knowing the difference between True and untrue.
6. Though the testimony of the senses is never real the work in Divine Science is in Knowing the Truth, Bicknell writes, “No matter what the testimony of the senses, you must stand. One cannot assume that he has demonstrated Science until the testimony of the senses changes favorably. Even then, we cannot rest upon the favorable change, but upon the divine Principle and rule by which the change was brought about.”
