Tune in as they discuss the universal stages of spiritual development and uncover parallels across various paths to Self-Realization. In this episode, they connect the teachings of Frederick Rawson with orthodox Christianity, Buddhism, and Kriya Yoga. Welcome to the Voice of Yoga—exploring the essence of consciousness! Embark on the journey to awaken the Light within your soul and embrace the Divine by joining the Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance.
Notes:
- The show draws inspiration from Fredrick Rawson’s work, Watch and Pray. However, it does not strictly follow Rawson; instead, its purpose is to glorify the Creator and serve as a space where Divine Truth is revealed. There are countless paths to reach the summit of Spiritual Identity, and it is of no concern which path you choose. What truly matters is that you ascend.
For instance, the Catholic tradition encompasses five sacraments—baptism, holy communion, confirmation, matrimony, and holy orders—paralleling the five steps to healing outlined by Rawson. Similarly, Buddhism offers a detailed framework with the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the Twelve Interdependent Origins. Kriya Yoga also provides guidance through its eight essential stages of practice.
While these paths may vary, the ultimate experience of Oneness demands action, knowledge, and devotion. True freedom is not easily attained; it requires dedication and effort. - Step 1: Turn in thought to God and heaven. This is absolutely essential. It does not matter much what your concept is, provided it is your best idea of the glorious world called heaven.
- Step 2: Deny the existence in Heaven of the wrong thing– thought of, seen, or felt. When, for instance, you see an angry man, or feel angry, realize, after first thinking of heaven, that there is no such thing as anger in that spiritual kingdom, the kingdom of harmony, the one reality. This is called the denial or Angel Michael, which, as the Bible shows us, destroys Satan, alias the imaginary mist of matter which appears to hide heaven from us, and Satan’s angels, namely, the evil thoughts which tempt us to believe in a power other than that of God (see Revelation 12 : 7-9).
- Step 3: Realize the existence of the Opposite. Realize the existence of the opposite. For instance in the case* of anger, whilst still thinking of heaven, realize that in that perfect world, the world of reality, all is peace and love. Think of God as Love, and the spiritual man as absolutely loving. Dwell on this realization and get it as clear as possible.
- Step 4: Realize why this is so.
- Step 5: Try to form as clear an Idea as you can of God. And his manifestation Heaven.
- Though it may not be definitive how many steps it takes to be Whole; it is apparent steps must be taken. I like what Gilbert Carpenter wrote in MBE, HSF chapter 7, “The Master said, “I have overcome the world.” Such a statement means little to uninspired thought, because Jesus referred to the mental victory, which none can comprehend but those spiritually enlightened. Yet, from the standpoint of divine Mind, the mental victory is the only one that has any real value, since, in reality, what man has to overcome is neither a wolf nor a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but the illusion which causes him to believe either that he has some mighty evil power to destroy or else, because of apparent harmony, that God is in control, hence, he has nothing to do.”
