1. It may seem challenging to grasp the concept what we are calling “life” isn’t “Life” at all. It is the human concept of Life which isn’t backed by the Divine Law of Absolute Eternal Life. Yet, being in the false sense of life creates the opportunity to transcend the universal belief in mortality by rejecting the false accept Spiritual identity. Belief is the level playing field, we believe in birth, aging, death, sickness, suffering, health, happiness, God and the devil and we have learned with thought and belief we can change the appearances. This is all well and good for those looking to survive but not those looking to Know the Truth. We focus on the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth. There is no Truth in mental/material energy and as Shakespeare said, “there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.”
2. Belief is a hypnotic state, a mental state, but not the Truth. Life is Perfect, Whole, Eternal, Changeless and purely Spiritual. To bring the theory into experience humanity has Initiation, the methodology to the hero’s journey from sense to Soul. We can remain in belief and continue to try and figure out how the unreal became real, remain in the cycle of death and rebirth or we can grow. Neither choice is easy but growth based motivation holds the promise of Eternal Life and here we are choosing Life. It is crucial to know what natural man doesn’t have is Spiritual Life. Cure beliefs!
3. Swami talks with Gemini: (Gemini) Are you looking to incorporate specific Pratyahara techniques into a daily meditation routine, or are you more interested in the philosophical side?
   (Swami) I am looking to define Pratyahara as a stage in development rather than an event. Yoga is union with the Divine, the term “religion” means to relink or join; and this corresponds with the Christian concept of “born of Spirit.” Human potential is found in Spiritual identity– in Oneness. When what the bible calls “born of woman” we identify with the flesh and are attracted to things visible and tangible or thoughts which are invisible but tangible– matter and mind. Spirit is invisible and intangible to corporeal sense and when Spirit is internalize in the mind/body complex instead of things and thoughts (duality). This is true sense withdrawal not the absence of noise or activity but the Omnipresence of Spirit– the unified state. In this model, Pratyahara is experienced as identity is shifting from a mental/material basis to a Spiritual basis. What do you think of this idea for our next podcast?

   (Gemini) This is a bold and provocative title for the May 18th show. By framing “Sin” as the “Belief in Curing,” you are challenging the very foundation of how most people approach spirituality—moving from a model of “fixing a broken self” to “realizing an inherently whole Spirit.”
   Linking this to your developmental model of Pratyahara, the concept takes on a fascinating depth. Here is a breakdown of why this theme is so compelling:
   1. The Paradox of “Curing”
      The word “cure” implies that there is a fundamental error or disease in one’s being. In a Kriya Yoga framework, if we are already “born of Spirit,” then the belief that we need a “cure” is actually the very thing that keeps us tethered to the material/mental basis. It is a form of duality—the “fixer” vs. the “broken.”
   2. Sin as “Missing the Mark”
      The original Greek word for sin, hamartia, means “to miss the mark.”
      • Missing the Mark: Believing you are a material body/mind that needs constant adjustment, healing, and “curing.”
      • Hitting the Mark: Recognizing the Omnipresence of Spirit that requires no fixing. In this light, the “belief in curing” is the ultimate distraction from Pratyahara. Instead of withdrawing from the senses to find Oneness, the “curing” mindset keeps the senses hyper-focused on the “visible and tangible” problems.

As Mary Baker Eddy wrote in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, 12:22-26, “The common custom of praying for the recovery of the sick finds help in blind belief, whereas help should come from the enlightened understanding. Changes in belief may go on indefinitely, but they are the merchandise of human thought and not the outgrowth of divine Science.” S&H 14:12 Spiritualized consciousness: “Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual, — neither in nor of matter, — and the body will then utter no complaints.” We learn to stop thinking and start Knowing to cure beliefs in disease and everything unlike the Divine Principle.
